Exciting "Progressive Holiness for Ordinary People" Series!

Dear Pastors and Friends,

I am pleased to announce that starting on January 2nd of 2011, I and my Powerline team will be hosting a four part series that will be entitled “Progressive Holiness for Ordinary People.” The purpose of this series is to reach out to people who want to understand what they believe and why they believe it. Sadly, too many Christians have been taught that they need to “Get Saved” and “Get Entirely Sanctified” and “Share the good news to a dying world” but have not been properly taught how to do so.

This four-part series will be targeted specifically at juniors and seniors in high school but will be open to everyone who desires to grow in their understanding of the fundamentals of Holiness. The purpose of this series will be to take our teens on a spiritual journey by exposing them to speakers who specialize in each of the topics listed in our flyer above.

In order to connect to our conference call, you may use a cellular or land phone and call a long distance USA number (218) 895-0167. When you are connected, there will be an operator who will ask you for your Passcode. At that point you will enter the letters P-O-W-E-R (76937) on your phone keypad. This will then connect you to our call and you may mute yourself by pressing *6 on your phone. [Note: All listeners will be muted automatically as soon as the speaker is introduced] Another recent way in which you can connect to our conference call is by going on the internet to powerlinesunday.blogspot.com and click the “Listen online” link at the top right hand portion of the screen. This will allow you to listen and participate by entering text in our chat window.

The call format will be very simple. At 9:30 PM EST Sunday, we will introduce our special speaker who will come on and speak for 15 minutes on the specified topic. We will then open up the lines for a 5 minute question and answer session that will allow our people on the line to ask questions and interact with our speaker. Participation is strictly optional and most people call in to simply listen and take notes. The length of these calls may vary slightly from week to week depending on audience response but I can assure you that they will be run promptly and efficiently out of respect for those who will be taking time out of their day to participate. [Note: You may listen to past Powerline Calls by going to powerlinesunday.blogspot.com and clicking on the “Past Powerline Calls” link under the list of “Powerline Recommended Sites” on the right hand side of your screen.]

For those of you who know very little about our ministry, Powerline was started in July 2009 by Ezra Byer. Its purpose was to target those (specifically juniors and seniors in high school) who were removed from Christian circles and could use the benefit of being connected to other Christian teens and Christian mentors. Since that starting point we have been able to connect with teens from Ontario, New Hampshire, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, as well numerous other places. Our speakers have included Dr Philip Brown, Professor Aaron Profit, Mrs. Charlotte Frederick, and many others.

It is my prayer that this four part series will be very helpful to various members of your congregation who desire a greater understanding in the basics of Scriptural Holiness.

In Christ,

Powerline Coordinator Ezra Byer

Ezra Byer - Brokenness

I apologize for those of you who called in and were unable to hear Mr. Armelli speak because of his late cancellation. I trust that my talk on brokenness was helpful to some and I appreciate everyone's patience! You may click here to listen to the replay and see what you missed :).

How Christians Should Respond to Homosexuality?

Jerry A. Armelli, M.Ed., PC holds a master degree in education, is a licensed professional counselor, and is co-founder of Prodigal Ministries where he has served since 1986.

As a former homosexual, Jerry knows firsthand how lives can be transformed through Jesus Christ. He began his journey out of emotional turmoil and homosexuality in 1983. Through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ he experienced growth into heterosexuality.

Recognized as an expert in the area of same-sex attraction recovery, Jerry speaks internationally at conferences, universities, and churches. He s been a guest on several television and radio programs and his writings have been featured in several books, newspapers, and periodicals.

As the Regional Representative for Exodus International, Jerry helps establish homosexual recovery ministries as well as provide oversight and networking services to Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. He is also a professional referral for Focus on the Family and the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.

Simply put, he gives the best presentation on how Christians can help those ensnared in the bondage of homosexuality of anyone I have ever heard! You will not want to miss this call starting this Sunday night at 9:30 PM EST!
